A press conference was held by the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) on the Ladakh case. KDA co-chairman Asghar Karbalai, Ladakh MP Hanifa Jaan and KDA member Asgar Kargili addressed. Asgar Karbalai, to demand to make Ladakh a state, said that our issues were being talked to the government for many years, but no result came out.

Karbalai said that Sonam Wangchuk raised these issues continuously after 2023. Then he also sat on hunger strike for the interests of Ladakhi Awam. Apart from this, KDA member Asghar Kargili said that the Home Ministry had assured us to solve the demand for Statehood and 6th schedule, but so far nothing has happened on it.

‘Ladakhi Awam sacrificed all the time for the motherland’
Kargil Democratic Alliance co -president Asghar Karbalai said that Ladakhi Awam has sacrificed all the time for the motherland. The country has always shown love, but still today Ladakhis are being called agents of China, Pakistan or CIA. He further said that we want to tell the government that we do not want a certificate from anyone. We have been loving the country and will continue to do so. Stop labeing the traitor on us. Asghar Karbalai said that the people of Ladakh are freshly elevated. He further said that we will not let the martyrdom of people who lost their lives to keep the legitimate demands.

Violence took place during Sonam Wangchuk’s strike
Violence erupted in the Union Territory during the protest of Sonam Wangchuk to demand Ladakh to be a state. The protesters also set government buildings on fire, after which curfew was imposed in Leh on behalf of the administration.

Curfew relaxed in Leh
On Tuesday (September 30, 2025) in Leh, a 4 -hour relaxation was announced in curfew. A large number of security forces have been deployed in view of the situation. Officials said that in the curfew released in Leh city for a week, 4 hours have been relaxed from 10 am on Tuesday and the shopkeepers have been instructed to open their establishments.
