Once again the political atmosphere in Karnataka has become heated regarding Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). State IT-BT and Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge has written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanding a ban on RSS activities on government premises and public places. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad also made a scathing attack on RSS and said that I consider it right to call RSS as Indian Taliban. This organization is trying to spread unrest in the country.
Priyank Kharge, in a letter written to the Chief Minister on October 4, said that in the interest of the children, youth and society of the country, RSS branches, Sangh programs and meetings should be immediately banned on government lands in the state. He alleged that RSS is running shakhas in government and aided schools, public grounds, temples, archaeological department properties and parks, where slogans and negative thoughts are being inculcated among the youth.

Minister Priyank Kharge further said that the organization is carrying out activities without police permission and with sticks, whose psychological impact can be fatal on children and youth. He also said that the Constitution empowers the government to stop divisive elements, so that the values of secularism and equality can be protected. This demand of Priyank Kharge and BK. Party leaders say that Congress has a problem with nationalism and the ideology of RSS, whereas they are used to hearing slogans like Pakistan Zindabad.
