New Delhi. Another new player has been entered in India’s CNG car market. Citroen has launched Citroen C3 CNG in India market. So far, Maruti and Tata are the leading brands in the CNG segment in India. This car will be available under the certified retrofitment program in India. That is, in this car you will not get a direct factory fitted CNG kit, but under the retrofitment program, a separate CNG kit will be fitted in your car. Its price will be Rs 93,000.
Citroen C3: Detail
Citroen claims that the CNG kit is integrated without compromising boot space as the spare wheel is easily available, which keeps the utility intact. CNG nozzle is easily integrated into the petrol filler port, which makes it quite easy to refill fuel. To maintain Citroen’s special “flying carpet” ride, the car has a rear shock absorber, suspension springs and an anti-roll bar. Ensure a stable and comfortable drive with the additional weight of the CNG kit.
The single-cylinder CNG kit offers a capacity of 55 liters of water, and according to Citroen, it offers 170 to 200 km driving range on a full tank. The company claims that ARAI-rated fuel efficiency is 28.1 km/kg and the cost of running is 2.66 per/km as low. The CNG kits are available only with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company has not yet released the output figures of CNG variants of Citroen C3. In the regular petrol model, this motor gives 81 bhp and 115 Nm peak torque.
