Cinema hall or multiplex, government in this state fixed a price of tickets

Karnataka Fix Cinema Ticket Pries: The Government of Karnataka has issued a notification on Tuesday (July 15, 2025) regarding the tickets of cinema hall across the state. Under this, now for all films and cinemas, whether they are multiplexes, or the language of the film, the maximum of Rs 200 per show ticket has been fixed including entertainment tax.

According to the report of the news agency ANI, the proposal comes under the Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) (Amendment) Rules 2025 and has been issued by the Department of Home Affairs using the powers conferred under Section 19 of the Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) Act 1964.

Since this decision of the Karnataka government, all the cinema lovers are happy. It is also believed to encourage people to go theater behind this order of the government. According to the instructions of the state government, the maximum price of the ticket will now be up to Rs 200. These rules will apply to all types of cinema halls and multiplexes. In such a situation, the theater driver will not be able to show his arbitrariness.

Decision taken under which rule?
According to the procedure, the draft is being published for public input and any objection or suggestion is invited within fifteen days from the date of publication in the official gazette. The draft notification states that provisions will be added to the sub -region (6) of Rule 55. Provided that in all theaters of the state, including multiplexes, the ticket of each show for all linguistic films will not be more than Rs 200 including entertainment tax.

In addition, the proposed amendment involves removing Rule 146 from the current 2014 rules. It has been said that in the above rules, rules 146 and related entries will be removed.
