Amidst the preparations for the 2027 census in India, the government has started the Self-Enumeration Process, under which citizens can upload their family information online. This makes this process fast, accurate and convenient.
The last date of census has been fixed as 15 April 2026, so people will have to register their information in time. To understand the self-calculation process, we are telling you the complete method step by step.
Complete method of self-enumeration process
First of all go to the official self-enumeration portal (https://en.vikaspedia.in/viewcontent/social-welfare/community-power/census-2027/self-enumeration-in-census-2027). After reaching the website, scroll down and find ‘How to Self-Calculate’. Click on it to go to the main page. There you have to select your state or union territory and enter a captcha code.
Name and mobile number of the head of the family
After verification you will be taken to the Welcome Page. On this you will have to enter the name and mobile number of the head of the family. Providing email ID is optional. After submitting these details, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your phone. After entering OTP, select your preferred language and proceed. After this you will be asked to verify your address by filling information like district pin code and locality.
After filling the information, click on Save and Next to proceed further. The portal will then ask you for information about your home, including: Materials of floors, walls and ceiling Condition of the home After choosing the appropriate option, proceed further. All the information you entered will be displayed on one page before submitting. Review every detail carefully. If everything is correct then click on final submit.
Complete the process as soon as possible
After submitting your self-registration process will be completed successfully. You will also receive a message confirming your registration. Self-enumeration empowers citizens to directly participate in the census, thereby collecting accurate data and reducing the need for enumerators to conduct the census in person. This is an important step towards a more efficient and digital census process. Citizens are appealed to complete their self-counting as soon as possible to avoid last minute problems.
