‘Bihar becomes Crime Capital of India, Nitish is saving chair’, Rahul Gandhi attacks BJP

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday (July 14, 2025), about several recent incidents of crime in Bihar, alleged that the state has become “Crime Capital of India” and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is saving his chair. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) quota ministers are earning ‘commission’.

He cited a news that states that there have been 31 murders in Bihar in 11 days. Cases of crime before election

The incidents of killing of traders, politicians, lawyers, teachers and common citizens one after the other have created serious concerns about the law and order of Bihar. The police have blamed the comprehensive availability of illegal weapons and ammunition for these incidents.

In the last 10 days, the killings of several people including businessman Gopal Khemka, BJP leader Surendra Kumar, a 60 -year -old woman, a shopkeeper, a lawyer and a teacher have shocked Bihar before the election.

These are crime figures from January to June

According to the latest data from the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), 1,376 murder cases were registered in the state with an average of 229 murders every month between January and June, compared to 2,786 in 2024 and 2,863 in 2023.
