High Court suspended the sentence of Kuldeep Sengar
Delhi High Court on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) had suspended the life sentence of expelled former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was serving life imprisonment in the Unnao rape case. The court said that he has already spent seven years, five months in jail.
Sengar had challenged the 2019 decision
Kuldeep Sengar had challenged the lower court’s decision in December 2019 in the Delhi High Court. However, even if this sentence remains suspended, Sengar will remain in jail because he is also serving a 10-year sentence in the case of custodial death of the victim’s father and Sengar has not yet got bail in that case.
