Making an important organizational change in the Congress organization, the party leadership has appointed senior leader Sandeep Dixit as the President of Constructive Congress. This appointment has come into effect with immediate effect. Creative Congress was earlier known as Outreach Cell, which is now being taken forward with a new format and expanded role.
This information was given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) by issuing an official statement on Monday (December 29, 2025). The statement is signed by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal. The statement said that the Congress President has made this appointment with the aim of further strengthening the ideological and policy strength of the party.
Creative Congress will become the special platform of the organization
The Creative Congress will be developed as an exclusive platform that will enable direct interaction with civil society groups, subject experts, academicians, social workers and issue-based organizations. Its main objective is to promote meaningful discussion on various social, economic and policy issues, so that ground realities and diverse perspectives reach the party’s policies.
Will help in making concrete policies on issues of public interest
Congress believes that this initiative will help the party to connect with different sections of the society, understand new ideas and formulate concrete policies on issues related to public interest. Through the Constructive Congress, the party leadership will directly gain ground experience and expert opinion. At the same time, the role of Sandeep Dixit as the new president is being considered important. His experience and political understanding is expected to give a new direction to the constructive Congress. According to party sources, in the coming times this platform will become a strong basis for the ideological strategy and social dialogue of the Congress.
Who is Congress leader Sandeep Dixit?
It is noteworthy that Sandeep Dixit had contested from New Delhi seat in the Delhi Assembly elections held in February 2025, but he lost to the BJP candidate. He has been a member of the 15th Lok Sabha and represented the East Delhi constituency. He is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
