Delhi’s Saket Court has handed over accused Ajay Gupta to Goa Police on 36-hour transit remand in the horrific fire incident at Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa. Ajay Gupta was caught while undergoing treatment
Ajay Gupta was evading investigators after the fire that broke out in Arpora area of North Goa on 6 December. Goa Police failed to trace Ajay Gupta for the first time, after which a Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued against him. Later he was found in a private hospital in Lajpat Nagar, where he had admitted himself citing health problems related to the spine. After medical examination, he was taken into custody and brought to the crime branch office for further action.
Blue corner notice issued against Luthra brothers
Goa Police has so far arrested five staff members of the nightclub, including chief general manager of the nightclub Rajeev Modak, general manager Vivek Singh, bar manager Rajeev Singhania, gate manager Riyanshu Thakur and employee Bharat Kohli. Meanwhile, nightclub owners Luthra brothers Saurabh and Gaurav fled India after the incident on the night of December 6. Interpol’s ‘Blue Corner Notice’ has been issued against him.
