Every day lakhs of passengers travel from one city to another from different railway stations of Varanasi. During this period, there is often dilemma among the passengers regarding Banaras Railway Station and Cantt Railway Station. Many times, due to confusion regarding the code of these railway stations, passengers even miss the train, but now a new code of Banaras Railway Station will be implemented which will make it easier for the passengers to identify the station.
BSBS will be changed to BNRS
According to the information received by ABP Live, from December 1, the code of Varanasi’s Banaras Railway Station will be BNRS. Earlier, BSBS was mentioned on the train tickets of people traveling from this station. The biggest dilemma was faced by the passengers because there is Varanasi Cantt Railway Station at a distance of about 3 to 4 kilometers from here, whose code is BSB. Dozens of trains run daily from Banaras railway station to various cities of North India including Bengal, Bihar.
People used to miss trains due to confusion
In such a situation, many times the passengers used to reach another station due to the dilemma of this code, due to which they missed their train, but now this confusion will not happen and the BNRS code will be implemented from December 1, 2025.
Banaras Railway Station was earlier known as Maduwadih Station.
Banaras Railway Station has been counted among the best railway stations in the country for its cleanliness and arrangements. Before July 2021, this station was known as Maduwadih station. But it was named Banaras Railway Station. Now the code of the station has been decided as BNRS which will come into effect from December 1.
