The next Prime Minister of India’s neighboring country Nepal has been decided. Balen Shah will take over the reins of Nepal. The elected representatives of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have chosen their leader. RSP has got majority in recent elections in Nepal. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not save his own seat in these elections.
Balen Shah will take oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal on Friday. Earlier on Thursday evening, in the Central Committee meeting at the party office in Kathmandu, it was unanimously agreed to appoint the former Mayor of Kathmandu as the parliamentary leader. Balen is also a structural engineer and rapper.
Will take oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 27
Shah will take oath from President Ram Chandra Paudel during a special ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow. According to the charter of RSP, only the leader of a parliamentary party can become Prime Minister. As per the agreement reached between RSP president Ravi Lamichhane and Shah on December 28, the party is going to officially appoint Shah for this role with the votes of its 182 House members.
The agreement states that former TV host and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane will continue to serve as the central president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. Balen Shah will take oath as the leader of the parliamentary party and future Prime Minister after the House of Representatives elections.
Other programs will continue during the oath ceremony
Many other customs will also continue in the oath ceremony of Balen Shah. Will recite 108 Batuk Swasti Shanti. 16 other Buddhist monks will recite Ashtamangala. Both of these are considered auspicious in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. After taking the oath of secrecy, Balen will administer the oath of office and secrecy to his cabinet members. The new Prime Minister will assume his charge at Singh Darbar at around 2:15 pm. Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Balen had taken the oath of secrecy as a member of the House of Representatives.

Balen Shah, who made his mark as a rapper, contested the Kathmandu mayor’s election as an independent candidate four years ago. Here Balen secured 61,767 votes. Other candidate Srijan Singh got more than 38 thousand votes, while CPN UML candidate Keshwa Sthala, former mayor of Chaku, got 38,117 votes. In such a situation, after just four years, 35 year old Balen will take oath as the Prime Minister of the country.
If we talk about Balen’s education, he obtained an engineering degree from Himalayan White House College. After this he obtained a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from India. 77 people also died during the protests in Nepal in September. After that PM KP Sharma Oli resigned. This demonstration became known as the Gen-Z movement. Gen-Z wanted to hand over the interim power of the country to Balen, but he refused and then former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was given the responsibility of running the interim government.
