He said, ‘We are committed to provide all assistance sought from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC) in the protection and restoration of the Aravalli Range. As per the current situation, a complete ban on mining continues in relation to new mining leases or renewal of old mining leases.

The Supreme Court had given the previous order on 20 November

In fact, the Supreme Court has currently put on hold its decision given last month on November 20, 2025. In its previous order, the court had accepted a uniform definition of the Aravalli hills and mountain range suggested by a committee constituted by the Union Environment Ministry. However, now the court has put its decision on hold and has directed to form a new high level committee of experts to study in depth the entire matter related to Aravalli mountain.
