Bureau Director Shikha Goyal said on Tuesday that since the formation of the Bureau, 2.44 lakh National Cybercrime Reporting Portal complaints have been registered. About 58,244 FIRs have been registered. Also, more than Rs 350 crore has been recovered from the victims of cyber fraud.

Cyber ​​crimes have increased in the country in the last few years
He told that an increase of 29% in cyber crime has been recorded in the entire country. However, a decline in cyber crime has been reported in Telangana. Also, a decline has been recorded in financial loss. The number of cyber crime cases across the country has been approximately 6%.

According to Shikha Goyal, many corrective steps have been taken towards success, which have resulted in positive success. Of these, 1930 helplines have been upgraded. Put on hold has been strengthened. Model refund system has been developed with the help of High Court.

Campaign started across the state
Shikha Goyal gave all this information on the occasion of the inauguration of the campaign named Full Stop of Fraud started by the Bureau. He said that its objective is to make citizens aware about measures to increase digital security and avoid cyber fraud. He has also asked the citizens to adopt cyber security as a daily habit.

What did the Telangana Director General say?
Apart from him, Director General of Telangana Police Shivadhar Reddy also spoke. He said that cyber crime should be taken as the main policing priority of every unit. Referring to the instructions of the Chief Minister, he directed to maintain strong coordination with the Bureau in all the districts and to run awareness programs continuously up to the police stations, SDPO, and district level.

He also said that it is very important to make people aware about the major cyber crime methods like digital arrest, investment fraud, impersonation fraud, OTP fraud, loan app harassment and social media blackmailing.
