The all-party meeting called by the Central Government started regarding the ongoing tension in West Asia and global concerns. Trinamool Congress (TMC) has boycotted the all-party meeting. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi had told a day earlier (24 March 2026) that he would not attend this meeting because he had a program in Kerala. He fiercely targeted the central government regarding foreign policy. In this meeting the situation in the Middle East will be discussed and suggestions from the opposition will also be taken.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is presiding over this all-party meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the Rajya Sabha that to deal with the situation arising due to the current war in West Asia, seven new empowered groups have been formed which will regularly assess and give suggestions on LPG, supply of essential services and other issues related to various sectors. However, the government is saying that there is no shortage of oil and gas in the country.
Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister JP Nadda have arrived for the all-party meeting. Sasmit Patra from BJD, Lallan Singh and Sanjay Jha from JDU, Tariq Anwar and Mukul Wasnik from Congress, John Brittas from CPIM, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri have arrived for the meeting.
Regarding the all-party meeting, TMC MP Saugata Roy said, ‘Our entire fight is with BJP, why would we hold a meeting with them?’ He said that he will not attend the all-party meeting.
