US-Iran Tension: US President Donald Trump has announced to extend the ceasefire with Iran. Trump has taken this step on the request of Pakistan a few hours before the end of the current ceasefire. He said that he is carrying forward the ceasefire until he receives a proposal from Iran. Due to this, the war has been averted for the time being and mediator Pakistan has got time to organize a new round of talks between America and Iran.
Donald Trump wrote in his social media post that we have understood that the government of Iran is seriously divided. Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir and PM Shahbaz Sharif requested me to extend the ceasefire. We have been told not to attack Iran until their leaders and representatives unanimously come up with a resolution.
For now the threat of war is over
Donald Trump further wrote that at the request of Pakistan, I am extending the ceasefire until the proposal is presented by Iran and the discussions are completed, no matter what outcome they reach. I have instructed my army to continue the blockade and be prepared for all other matters.
With this announcement by Donald Trump, the danger of resumption of fighting has been averted for the time being. However, deep differences still remain between the two sides. Vice President JD Vance’s proposed visit to Pakistan to lead the US negotiating team has been postponed. America’s blockade on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz also continues.
Pakistani PM said thanks
Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif has said that he wholeheartedly thanks President Donald Trump that he accepted Pakistan’s request to extend the ceasefire so that the ongoing diplomatic efforts can move forward. Pakistan will continue its best efforts to resolve this conflict through dialogue.
America and Israel started the war by attacking Iran on February 28, which lasted for about six weeks. Finally, on April 8, there was a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, America. Meanwhile, talks between Iran and America took place in Pakistan on April 11 but remained inconclusive. At present this ceasefire has been extended.
