On the last day of campaigning for the first phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public meeting in Darjeeling. During this, he targeted the TMC government and said that under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, mothers and sisters were subjected to severe atrocities.
The Home Minister said that they have filed hundreds of wrong cases against our Gorkha sisters and brothers. Results will come on 4th May, BJP government will be formed on 5th and before 31st July, BJP government will withdraw all the cases registered against all Gorkha sisters and brothers. TMC suppressed the Gorkha movement by making this fake case, BJP will end all these cases and will also bring such a solution that you will not have to protest.
Amit Shah said that as soon as the BJP government is formed in Bengal, we will find such a solution that within 6 months there will be a smile of satisfaction on the face of every Gorkha. Congress and TMC have done injustice to both Darjeeling and Gorkha. As soon as the Kamal Phool government is formed, within 6 months we will solve the decades-old Gorkha problem as per the Gorkha needs, this is our promise.
The Home Minister said, ‘People of North Bengal, form the BJP government once. Darjeeling has been voting on the lotus flower for the last three elections, but this time the whole of Bengal has decided that the time has come to remove Didi. This election is an election to protect our mothers and sisters from the hills of Darjeeling to Gangasagar and Kolkata. Many mothers and sisters have been tortured under Mamata’s rule. Sandeshkhali embarrassed the whole of Bengal. The BJP government will selectively put every rapist behind bars.

The Home Minister accused the TMC government of giving more budget to madrassas. He said that the budget of Mamata government for hills and North Bengal for tribal development is Rs 2000 crore, while the budget of Mamata government for madrassas and Muslims is more than Rs 5700 crore. After becoming the Home Minister, I called three big meetings to solve the Gorkha problems, but not even once did a representative from the Mamata government come.
Amit Shah said, ‘Mamata didi! We are not dependent on you to solve the Gorkha problem. We have appointed an interlocutor, who is meeting the Gorkha people here and preparing a report. As soon as the BJP government is formed, we will give the same solution which is in the minds of all the Gorkhas.
Amit Shah said, ‘Bagdogra Airport is being rebuilt at a cost of Rs 3000 crore and we are working to make this airport one of the largest airports in India before December 2027.
He also said that Rs 3000 will be given every month in the accounts of mothers and sisters of entire Bengal including the hills. Unemployed youth will also get Rs 3000. Schools will be built inside the tea gardens, workers will be made owners of their own land, and house leases will be given.

While addressing the public meeting, the Home Minister said that all the goons of TMC should listen with open ears, if any citizen is harassed after 5th, they will work to straighten them out. If you want your well-being, then do not touch the people of the hills on 23rd April, otherwise you will be behind the bars after 5th May. He said that Mamata Didi is spreading a rumor that BJP will stop the public welfare schemes which are running now, but BJP will not stop any public welfare scheme. Along with this, BJP will do the work of implementing all these schemes.
