Premium eye-wear company Lenskart has made a big announcement on Saturday (April 18, 2026). The company said that from now on, employees working in all its stores can wear any religious or cultural identity including bindi, tilak, sindoor, kalava, mangalsutra, kada, turban and hijab. With this announcement, Lenskart has also released a new ‘in-store style guide’ for its employees.
The company said that this is not an exemption or exception, but is part of the company’s identity. If any old communication made an employee feel that his/her beliefs have no place here, then the company apologizes for this. Lenskart also said that from now on every policy and training material will reflect these values.

The company said, ‘These guidelines clearly and without any confusion welcome every mark of faith and culture of our team members, be it bindi, tilak, sindoor, kalava, mangalsutra, kada, hijab, turban or anything else. We have accepted these not as exceptions, but as our identity.
Lenskart made in India, by Indians and for Indians
The company further said in the X Post, ‘Lenskart is made in India, by Indians and for Indians. Our more than 2,400 stores are driven by people who bring their beliefs, traditions and identity to work every day. This is not something we would ever ask anyone to leave at the door. If any communication in our workplace has caused anyone offense or made any of our team members feel that their faith is not welcome here, we are deeply sorry. This is not and never will be the identity of Lenskart.
