‘BJP is hatching political conspiracy in the name of women’s reservation’, know why Congress MP Praniti Shinde made these allegations

Women Reservation Bill: The country’s politics has once again heated up regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill and delimitation. Congress MP Praniti Shinde has made serious allegations against BJP and said that the government is moving forward its political agenda by deviating from the real objective in the name of women’s reservation.

Praniti Shinde said that the Women’s Reservation Bill was passed in Parliament in 2023, but conditions like delimitation and census were added to it. He said that Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi had even at that time demanded its unconditional implementation so that it could be implemented in the 2024 elections.

Serious allegations made against BJP
The MP alleged that BJP deliberately added conditions. He said that the government can implement it even without delimitation, but it is postponing it for political gains. He claimed that the real objective of the special session is not to advance women’s reservation but to advance delimitation. Praniti Shinde said that a special session has been called in view of the elections in states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. He alleged that BJP is making political strategy in the name of women’s reservation.

dispute regarding delimitation
The Congress MP said that through delimitation, seats will be increased in those states where BJP is strong, while seats will be reduced in weaker states. He called it an attempt to imbalance democracy. He said that in 1993, under the 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments, the Rajiv Gandhi government had given 50% reservation to women in Panchayat and municipal bodies, which benefited about 15 lakh women across the country. Praniti Shinde said that Congress has given the country the first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the party has always been the real pioneer of women empowerment.
