US Iran War: Enraged after the failure of peace talks with Iran hosted by Pakistan, America has started taking action against Tehran after the deadline for a major maritime action. Sanctions have come into effect on Iran’s ports. Now the US Navy will stop Iranian ships. President Donald Trump had said that after 7:30 pm on Monday evening (Indian time), the US Navy will begin a blockade of ships entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz. After this, action has started from America’s side.
Earlier, news agency Reuters reported that in a note issued by the US military to sailors, it was said that any ship passing through the blockade area near the Strait of Hormuz without permission can be seized, stopped or diverted. This blockade will apply to all ships, irrespective of which country they are running under the flag of. The note said that this blockade will be implemented in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump enraged by failure of Islamabad talks
In fact, the 21-hour long high-level talks between America and Iran ended without reaching any positive result, due to which US President Donald Trump became very angry. Due to Trump’s displeasure, the future of the two-week old fragile ceasefire has become uncertain. At the same time, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that it will blockade all Iranian ports from 10 am EDT (5:30 pm Iran time) on Monday (April 13, 2026).
Centcom said that this blockade will be implemented impartially on ships of all countries. However, ships traveling between non-Iranian ports will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
US Army will also search ships
According to Reuters, the US Army said in the note on Monday (April 13, 2026) that action can be taken against neutral ships under the right to search and search, so that it can be found out whether any prohibited goods are being sent in them.
However, the US military has also clarified that this blockade will not affect neutral transit through the Strait of Hormuz, especially those ships transiting to a non-Iranian destination. Apart from this, ships carrying food items, medicines and other essential humanitarian aid items will be allowed to leave after testing.
