Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has taken a big step regarding the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act. He has announced to call a meeting of opposition parties on April 15, so that this issue can be discussed comprehensively.
Opposition meeting will be held on April 15
Kharge said that Congress will call a meeting of opposition parties on April 15 to discuss the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act. Further strategy will be decided in this meeting.
Government accused of taking decisions without discussion
The Congress President alleged that the Central Government has not discussed this important issue with all the parties. He said that for such a big decision it is necessary to take all the parties along.
Full support of Congress, but discussion necessary
Kharge clarified that Congress fully supports the Women’s Reservation Act, but considering its national impact, there should be a comprehensive discussion on the way to implement it.
Questions were also raised on the meeting of the Center
He said that the Center has called a meeting and he has already replied to the letter of Narendra Modi and Kiren Rijiju. But the government is not ready to call an all-party meeting, so the opposition is holding the meeting itself.
‘An attempt to take political advantage’
Kharge said that the Women’s Reservation Act has been passed unanimously and no one is opposing it. He alleged that the government is only trying to take political advantage of this.

Emphasis on Congress’s old commitment
He said that Congress has always been a supporter of one-third reservation for women. Sonia Gandhi had already raised this issue and Congress has also implemented it in Panchayats and local bodies. Kharge said that such big decisions related to the country have far-reaching effects, hence all parties should come together and discuss how to implement this law.
