Amidst the ongoing war with Iran in West Asia, US President Donald Trump has made a big confession on Sunday (April 5, 2026). Trump claimed that the US had sent weapons to anti-government protesters in Iran and said that those weapons were taken by the Kurds.
In an interview with Fox News, President Trump said, ‘We sent a lot of guns to the protesters through the Kurds, and I think the Kurds kept those weapons.’
Who are the Kurds that Trump is claiming about?
In his claim, US President Donald Trump pointed to the Kurdish community, whose population is around 30 million in the world and which is one of the largest stateless ethnic groups. Kurdish people live in Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. They have their own language, which has many dialects and most of them are Sunni Muslims. Many extremist organizations in Iran have been declared terrorist organizations.
Iranian regime killed 45 thousand protesters: Trump
Trump also claimed that the Iranian regime killed 45 thousand people during anti-government protests. Although, no official number of deaths during these demonstrations has been released by Iran, but some activists claim that this figure is 7000, while in many other reports this number is said to be up to 30 thousand.
Trump’s comments surfaced after threatening Iran
This comment of US President Donald Trump has come at a time when he has threatened Iran that if it does not open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday (April 7, 2026), then America can further intensify the intensity of its attacks on Iran and all its infrastructure.
