Due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has badly affected the global energy supply. On Friday (April 3, 2026), India’s seventh LPG tanker ‘Green Saanvi’ is crossing the Strait of Hormuz and heading towards India. Iran shared a special message for India regarding this. The Iranian Consulate in Mumbai posted on Twitter that India and especially Gujarat hold an important place in our shared history.
Iran sent a special message to India
The Iranian Consulate said these things in reply to the post of Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Harsh Sanghvi had described the passage of the Hormuz Strait LPG tanker as a diplomatic victory for India. Responding to this, Iran said, ‘India holds a special place in our shared history. Centuries ago the people here welcomed our country happily. He referred to the ancient port of Lothal in Gujarat, which connected Indus Valley cities to the Persian coast about 4,000 years ago.
India, & #Gujarat in particular, hold a cherished place in our shared history; having graciously welcomed those from our land centuries ago.
Building on this enduring civilizational bond, we remain committed to further strengthening the ties of friendship & cooperation.#Iran https://t.co/KHruteGkY2

Ship reached India after crossing Hormuz Strait
Iran said, ‘Based on this unbreakable bond, we are committed to further strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation.’ So far, 6 LPG ships have crossed the Strait of Hormuz and reached Indian ports. Through this route, one-fifth of the world’s total oil needs are met. About 17 Indian ships are stranded west of Hormuz. The closure of this route has led to a surge in global crude oil prices, which remain around $ 100 per barrel.
Hormuz Strait opened to five countries
While on one hand Iran has stopped the ships of the enemy country from passing through the Strait of Hormuz, on the other hand it has opened this corridor for five friendly countries India, Russia, China, Iraq and Pakistan. Iran has said that it will respond to Israeli attacks and will not allow any ship belonging to it to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Apart from this, Iran has also approved the plan to impose duty on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
