West Asia Tensions: Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Iran has completely rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran had requested for a ceasefire. Iran has termed it completely “baseless and false”. According to news agency Reuters, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, quoting state television, clarified that Trump’s claim is factually incorrect and has no connection with reality.
Iran has retaliated sharply on Donald Trump’s claim of regime change. Iran sarcastically said that Trump is making an “April Fool” because the President of any country does not change with a tweet. The Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai clarified that Masoud Pezeshkian was the President of the country earlier and is still on the same post, that is, there has been no change of power in Iran. It is clear from Iran’s reaction that it is completely rejecting Trump’s claims and considering it as misleading and political rhetoric.
Iran rejected Trump’s claim
In fact, earlier, while posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump had said that Iran’s “new regime” has appealed to him for a ceasefire. However, no change in leadership has been confirmed in Iran, raising further questions on this claim.
Trump also said that he has told Iran that if the Strait of Hormuz is reopened, America can consider this proposal. At the same time, after this strong denial by Iran, the tension between the two countries seems to be increasing further.
signs to end the war
On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi clearly indicated in an interview given to Al Jazeera on Tuesday that Iran is fully prepared for war. He said that no country should talk to the people of Iran in a threatening tone. Earlier, Donald Trump had said that the Iran war can be ended soon and if needed, America can also withdraw again. When Reuters asked him when the war would end, he said that it was not possible to give any definite time frame.
Trump also claimed that after American action, Iran’s nuclear capability has now weakened to a great extent and it is not in a position to become a nuclear power. However, he also admitted that a clear time cannot be fixed as to when the situation will become normal.
It is noteworthy that many allied countries like United Kingdom, Spain and France have refused to support the United States in this war. On this, Trump reacted sharply and said that the countries facing oil crisis should either buy oil from America or “show courage” and bring it themselves from the Strait of Hormuz.
