Former chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) Vikram Sood has expressed concern over the Iran War and warned that due to this war, the prices of goods will increase and inflation can break the back of Indians. He said that the challenge will come after 2-3 months, when we will run out of oil and fertilizers and we will have to buy LNG and oil at higher prices. Because of this, inflation will increase in the country. During this, Vikram Sood called Israel an ally of India, but also termed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei as unfortunate. He has described Khamenei’s death as murder.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Vikram Sood said, ‘The challenge will come after 2-3 months, when we will run out of oil and fertilizers. Most of our LNG comes from Qatar and most of our oil is bought from Arabia and the Middle East. If it does not come and if it is purchased at a higher rate, inflation will increase, which we will have to manage. In such a situation, the government will face a difficult time in dealing with it.
Vikram Sood also talked about America and Israel’s operations and Iran’s action against them. He has praised Iran. Vikram Sood said, ‘Israel is our friend. We have deep relations with them, we depend on them for many things related to our security… But the attack on Iran and the death of the previous leader is tantamount to murder and it is like taking the law of a country into one’s hands.
Former RAW chief Vikram Sood said, ‘Later, the involvement of Americans in this work is like an undeclared war against a country… We will not say that Israel is not our friend, but we will say that this murder was unfortunate and could have been avoided.’ Vikram Sood also said that we are dependent on Hormuz, not on Iran. India is dependent on Iran for the Strait of Hormuz… Neither we have imposed it on ourselves nor Iran has imposed it on us. This has been imposed on us because of the attacks by the Israelis and Americans.
Vikram Sood has praised Iran’s action. He said, ‘From day one, Israel and America misread Iran… They are coping and doing well… There are some people who are saying that this is a plan to completely destroy Iran and hand over the command of the region to Israel… Only time will tell what the game is.’
