Delhi Police has arrested a 47-year-old man in a major case, who is accused of sending more than 1100 fake threatening messages across the country. This person is a resident of Mysore, Karnataka and his name is said to be Srinivas Lewis. According to the police, the accused was caught from his rented house. This action was taken jointly by the team of Delhi Police and local police. Recently, Delhi High Court Assembly, schools and many government offices had received bomb threats, after which security was increased and many places were evacuated.
In one case, a judge of the Delhi High Court himself had filed a complaint after receiving a threatening email. Due to these threats, work was affected at many places and an atmosphere of fear was created among the people. Investigation revealed that the accused is educated and post graduate, but is currently unemployed and was living with his mother. The mother of the accused is a retired government employee. Initial investigation has also revealed that he is going through mental stress. Police say that he deliberately targeted big institutions to spread more fear.
What was found from the accused?
Police had received a tip-off, based on which a team was sent to Mysore and he was arrested from there. During interrogation, the accused admitted that he had sent more than 1100 threatening messages across the country. These messages were sent through email and other mediums, due to which many cases have been registered in different states. During the search, a laptop and several SIM cards were also recovered from the accused. The police are now examining this digital evidence to find out how many places he sent the messages and whether anyone else was also involved. The accused was produced in the Mysore court, from where he has been taken into police custody. Now he is being brought to Delhi, where he will be interrogated further and the truth of the entire matter will be revealed.
