Moinabad drug scandal: Heated debate in Telangana Legislative Council, Mahesh Kumar Gaur challenges K. Chandrashekhar Rao

The heat of the Moinabad Farmhouse Drug Party scandal has now reached within the Telangana Legislature. In Monday’s session of the Telangana Legislative Council, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President and Legislative Council member Mahesh Kumar Gaur addressed Bharat Rashtra Samiti supremo K. Chandrashekhar Rao and acting president K.T. Openly challenged Rama Rao for drug test.

What did Mahesh Kumar Gaur say?

Addressing the opposition bench in the House, Mahesh Kumar Gaur said, ‘Weren’t your leaders caught in the farmhouse? Our Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is ready for drug test of AAP right now. Bring Chandrashekhar Rao. Mahesh Kumar Gaur suggested in the House that during the Assembly session, it should be made mandatory for all MLAs and Legislative Council members to undergo drug test before entering the premises.

Government targeted over increasing drug problem

He held the ten-year rule of Bharat Rashtra Samithi directly responsible for the increasing drug problem in Telangana. In his words, “The supply of marijuana in this state has increased exponentially in the last 10 years. Cocaine is now available like chocolate. Cocaine is available like biscuits in grocery stores. Who is responsible for this?”

KT Rama Rao counterattacked

On this challenge of Mahesh Kumar Gaur, KT. Rama Rao retorted and said, “I am ready for a drug test at any time.” But he also warned that a legal notice would be sent to those who dragged Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s name into the matter. “Using the drug case to settle political scores against Bharat Rashtra Samithi is a reflection of disgusting politics.”

Youth organization of Congress organized KT at Gandhi Bhawan. Effigies of Rama Rao and pilot Rohit Reddy were burnt. Congress leaders, led by Legislative Council member Balamuri Venkat, also met K.T. Burnt the effigy of Rama Rao and demanded drug test.

Demand for resignation of TDP MP

Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party termed the Telugu Desam Party as the “Telugu Drugs Party” and the opposition questioned the credibility of the government’s “Say No to Drugs” campaign and demanded the resignation of Telugu Desam Party MP Putta Mahesh Kumar. The night party held in a farmhouse has completely shaken the politics of Telangana and this trend is not showing any sign of stopping yet.
