As soon as Kharge said this, a wave of laughter ran in the entire house. The Prime Minister was also seen laughing in the Rajya Sabha.

Deve Gowda broke alliance with Congress and formed government with BJP.

After the Lok Sabha elections in 1996, Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister of the country for less than a year. Congress had supported the United Front government under his leadership. Deve Gowda’s party JDS had formed an alliance with Congress for the 2018 state elections. This alliance also got victory. Then his son HD Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister. In 2019, the government fell when many Congress and JDS MLAs rebelled. After this JDS formed an alliance with BJP. In such a situation, Kharge’s comment is being linked to this incident.
