India-Iran Talks: India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has had important talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi. Jaishankar shared the information of this conversation on his X handle. He wrote that the situation was discussed with Iran’s Foreign Minister Aragchi this evening and both sides agreed to remain in touch in the future.

After this conversation, it is hoped that steps can be taken to help the Indian citizens and students stranded in Iran. Earlier, the Government of India had also issued travel guidelines, in which it was said that students can return to India through the Armenia border. However, the Indian Embassy had made it clear that this journey would be at the students’ own risk.

Discussion with foreign ministers of Germany and South Korea

Foreign Minister Jaishankar also spoke to the foreign ministers of Germany and South Korea on Tuesday. In his ex-post, Jaishankar wrote that views were exchanged with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful on the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Besides, Jaishankar also discussed the situation in West Asia with South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun. The impact of this conflict on the energy sector and issues of taking forward the bilateral agenda were also discussed.

Conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani

On Monday, Foreign Minister Jaishankar also talked to Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the situation in West Asia. Tajani said that he will work with Jaishankar to quickly bring the situation under control, ensure freedom of sea lanes and maintain stability in international markets.
