Tamil Nadu: Greed for property became the reason for murder, daughter along with her husband killed mother with stones.

Tirupattur News: Sambasivam, a resident of Nadukuppam village in the Puthurnadu hill region of Tirupattur district of Tamil Nadu, died due to illness two years ago. After his death, his wife Chinnakali (45) started living alone in the house. Sambasivam had two daughters, who were married and were living separately with their families.

Younger daughter started living with mother

Sambasivam’s younger daughter Geeta lived in the same village with her husband Chidambaram and two children. After some time, Geeta started living with her family in mother Chinnakali’s house. It is told that Chinnakali had about six acres of ancestral land in her name. A property had already been registered in Geeta’s name, but Geeta wanted the entire property to be transferred to her name.

Police investigation has revealed that Chinnakali did not want to transfer her remaining property to her daughter. It is being said that she was thinking of writing the property in the name of a person close to her, i.e. her lover. When Geeta came to know about this, she started putting pressure on her mother. Geeta said that she will take care of her mother, hence the property should be given in her name.

Resentment increased after the fight

Last week there was a heated argument between mother and daughter over this matter. Chinnakali clearly said that as long as she is alive, she will not transfer the property to anyone and this is her final decision. Geeta became very angry with this statement of her mother. According to the police, after this Geeta and her husband Chidambaram made a plan to remove Chinnakali from the way.

Two days ago, Geeta took mother Chinnakali out of the house saying that let’s go towards the forest to find your son-in-law. Chidambaram was already hiding in the forest near Nadukuppam area. As soon as he reached there, Chidambaram started arguing with Chinnakali regarding the property. A scuffle broke out during the argument.

hit on the head with a stone

According to the police, during this time Geeta held her mother’s hand and Chidambaram hit Chinnakali hard on the head with a big stone lying nearby. Due to serious injury, Chinnakali fell unconscious. After this the husband and wife stayed there till they died.

After the murder, both of them hatched a sinister conspiracy to make it look like someone else’s handiwork. They created such an atmosphere that it seemed as if Chinnakali was murdered by a lover after sexually assaulting her. Clothes, flowers and handkerchiefs were thrown near the dead body. After this both returned home and started behaving normally.

pretended to be innocent

On the day of the incident, Chidambaram went to work in the morning as if he did not know anything. Later, when the neighbors saw the dead body of the woman in the forest, there was panic. Without crying much, Geeta tried to show that she did not know anything. She kept asking people where her mother was.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Tirupattur Rural Police reached the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem. No concrete evidence of sexual harassment was found in the initial investigation. After this the police became suspicious and the direction of investigation was changed. A special team led by DSP interrogated Geeta and Chidambaram separately.

evidence of scratches on the body

Police found scratch marks on Chidambaram’s body, which deepened the suspicion. Upon strict questioning, the husband and wife broke down and confessed the truth. Both of them admitted that they had murdered Chinnakali out of greed for property. The police recovered the stone used in the murder and arrested both of them after confirming the crime. Geeta was sent to Vellore Women’s Central Jail, while Chidambaram was lodged in Men’s Central Jail.

This incident has shocked the entire area. People are shocked to think that out of greed for property, a daughter can murder her own mother so brutally. The police is engaged in further legal action in the case.
