Indigo CEO asked for one day’s time before appearing before DGCA, these questions will have to be answered

The country’s largest airline IndiGo is facing a huge operational crisis these days. After continuous flight cancellations and anger among passengers, DGCA had summoned IndiGo’s CEO to appear before the investigation panel, but IndiGo’s CEO asked for one day’s time, which has been accepted. Now they will present their report before the DGCA panel at 3 pm on Thursday.

DGCA has clearly said that in this meeting the airline will have to respond with complete transparency on the current crisis. The inquiry committee has asked IndiGo to prepare clear and data-based answers to six big questions, which are related to the root of the crisis.

Current status of IndiGo passenger service and flights

DGCA first wants to understand what percentage of IndiGo’s network has been restored. It will also be asked about the passengers whose flights were cancelled. Were they given a place on an alternative flight? Its exact figures have been sought. DGCA wants to check that sensitive categories like senior citizens, children traveling alone and medical cases. What is the airline doing to give them priority and how is their help being ensured.

Indigo Airline Operation Restoration and Monitoring System

IndiGo will have to explain what kind of internal monitoring arrangements have been made for the resumption of operations and what steps are being taken to prevent delays and cancellations. DGCA may ask about the status of pilot-cabin crew. What is the actual availability of pilots and cabin crew at present? How many were not available due to crew rotation or roster issues? How is the issue related to FDTL (New Duty Rules) being resolved? What are your recruitment and training plans in the coming months?

Complete data of canceled flights and refunds

IndiGo will have to provide details of every flight canceled so far and how many have been refunded if OTA MakeMyTrip, EaseMyTrip and direct bookings have been made. What was the refund time limit in both types of payment systems?
