The Election Commission has given instructions to pay special attention to that category whose names were not included in the voter list of 2002 and whose identity was added later by matching the names of parents or relatives. All such cases will be re-investigated.
Where more unverified voters have been found, booth level officials have been instructed to re-verify. Those whose father’s name is not found in the documents, their names will be matched with the information of mother or grandfather.
Focus also on making booths in high rise buildings
The Election Commission has said many times that it is necessary to make booths in high-rise buildings also, but many areas did not cooperate in this. Now the Commission has directed that North-South 24 Parganas, North-South Kolkata, Howrah and Hooghly districts should report by December 6 as to which buildings booths can be built.
No suspicious voter found in only 480 booths
Earlier it was told that there are no dead, duplicate or transferred voters in 2208 booths. But in the new report of SIR this number has reduced to 480 booths. This means that irregularities are being confirmed in other booths also.
Hearing of complaints continues
Opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari has made many complaints regarding BLO. The Election Commission has also sought a report on these complaints and has said that every complaint will be resolved.
