Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made a big announcement on Monday (December 1, 2025) claiming that his government has convinced the Central Government to approve bullet train projects on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Amaravati and Amaravati-Chennai routes. The announcement is part of an ambitious plan to transform South India’s infrastructure, which aims to rapidly connect regional economic hubs.
Emphasis laid on increasing connectivity through road and water
Reddy said that this is not limited to just bullet trains. His government is also giving priority to the construction of greenfield highways in the state, which will take road transportation to a new level. These highways will not only reduce travel time but will also promote trade and commerce.
Along with this, emphasis is also being laid on increasing the connectivity of Machilipatnam port. CM Reddy said, “We are developing the connectivity of Machilipatnam port so that it can become a major hub of regional trade.” This step will help in connecting this coastal city of Andhra Pradesh with the logistics network of South India.
There is competition from developed countries like China, Japan and Singapore – Chief Minister
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gave a strong statement. He said, “Our competition is not with neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, but with developed countries like China, Japan, Germany, Singapore and South Korea.”
Currently in Bullet Train Project dpr and awaiting financial approval
Analysts believe that if these projects take concrete shape, they will change the economic dynamics of South India and will put Telangana among the most progressive states of the country. However, the bullet train projects are currently in the proposal stage and are awaiting detailed DPR (detailed project report) and financial approval.
