BJP said- betrayal of backward people
This incident is fueling the fire of BC reservation controversy. In February 2024, the Assembly had passed two bills for 42 percent reservation in education, jobs and local bodies, but the approval of President Draupadi Murmu is pending.
In August 2025, CM Revanth Reddy staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, where he met Union Ministers G. Accused Kishan Reddy and Bundy Sanjay Kumar of ‘stopping reservation’. But the opposition says that the state government did not follow the proper procedure.

BJP state president N. Condemning the arrests, Ramachandra Rao said, “Congress is betraying the backward classes. We will fight a legal battle.”
BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao also expressed support on social media, “Congress will have to be taught a lesson for not fulfilling the promise of reservation.”
The state government did not give any statement
There was no official statement from the state government, but according to sources, the police have given instructions to ‘maintain peace’. This protest may bring a boil in the politics of Telangana, especially when the Zilla Parishad elections are approaching. The anger of the BC community, which constitutes 50 percent of the state’s population, can change the electoral equation. Experts believe that it is necessary to call an assembly session to strengthen the ordinance, otherwise court challenges will increase.
