Accident in Shalibanda, Old Hyderabad, car explodes due to fire in shop, news of one death, many injured


A massive fire broke out in Shalibanda area of ​​Hyderabad this morning, following which one person died and several others were injured in the explosion. This information has been given by local corporation councilor Mustafa Muzaffar. However, the police have not yet confirmed any casualty. The incident took place at Gomti Electronics Store near Shah Ali Banda intersection at around 9:45 am, after which an atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire area.

According to DCP (South) Kiran Khare, the incident started from a short circuit at Gomti Electronics Shop. Soon the fire engulfed a CNG fitted car parked nearby, causing a massive explosion. The intensity of the explosion was so high that the shutters of nearby shops were blown off and the glass of the buildings were broken.

Meanwhile, local councilor Mustafa Muzaffar confirmed one death on the spot. He told, “I reached the spot with my team. Some people were helping in extinguishing the fire, while we took the injured to various hospitals. During this time, the death of one person was reported, but his identity has not been established yet.” His statement has made the matter more serious.

As soon as information about the incident was received, five fire engines and police force reached the spot. As a precautionary measure, the entire area has been cordoned off and the surrounding buildings have been evacuated. The Charminar-Chandrayangutta main road has been temporarily closed to avoid any hindrance in rescue and relief operations.

As of now in the investigation, this incident is being considered an accident. Police have appealed to people not to pay attention to rumors and rely only on official information. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals in the city, where their treatment is ongoing and the situation has been completely controlled on the spot.
