Two big names of Bhojpuri world, Dinesh Lal Yadav and Khesari Lal Yadav are again in the headlines over a controversy that took place during the Bihar Assembly elections. BJP leader and Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav had addressed Khesari as ‘Yadmulla’ during the election campaign. Now while talking to a media channel, he clearly explained why he had used this word?
Why did you say Yadmulla?- Dinesh Lal Yadav replied
It was asked in the interview why the word ‘Yadmulla’ was said? It is a mixture of words like Yadav plus Mullah and can also be considered negative, so was it not going out of bounds? On this, Dinesh Lal Yadav said that he said these words because Khesari Lal Yadav had said on a public platform that ‘a hospital should have been built instead of Ram Mandir.’ According to Dinesh Lal Yadav, this statement is against Hindu faith and hence he used this word.
Explained by giving example of Aurangzeb
Taking the matter further, Dinesh Lal Yadav said that Aurangzeb had not only demolished the temples but also converted the Hindus so that in the future, when the Hindus wanted to get back the heritage like Ram Temple, the people who opposed them would be among them.
Dinesh Lal Yadav said, ‘Being a Yadav, being born in the lineage of Krishna, if Khesari says that a hospital should be built instead of Ram temple, then I will not call him Yadav. He is doing the same thing which Aurangzeb had done by raising the people who had converted to religion to protest. That’s why I called him ‘Yadmulla’.
What else did Dinesh Lal Yadav say?
During the interview, it was also asked that how appropriate is it for an artiste to use such a word for another artiste, especially when he was cornered for this statement in the elections. On this Dinesh Lal Yadav said, ‘Because he was talking like that. Who is anyone to say that if a hospital had been built instead of Ram temple, everyone, Hindus and Muslims, would have been treated? There was a struggle for 500 years for the Ram temple, the court ordered it and then it was built. Before that, hospital, university, airport, everything has been built in Ayodhya. Still say that a hospital would have been built instead of a temple – what would you call such a person?
