Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said at the International Geeta Mahotsav – ‘Operation Sindoor is not just a military action but…’

At the International Geeta Mahotsav organized in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his views on Geeta and also mentioned the action taken by the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor. During this, he said, “We showed the world that India does not want to fight, but if forced, India will not run away from the fight. Lord Krishna had also explained to the Pandavas that war can be fought not for the sake of revenge or ambition, but also for the establishment of righteous rule. Operation Sindoor was not just a military action, but it was a proclamation of India’s self-commitment, self-respect and self-confidence.”

“Operation Sindoor was a righteous deed”
He said, “Shri Krishna had explained to Arjuna in Kurukshetra. Religion is not protected only by sermons, it is protected by deeds. Operation Sindoor was the same ‘Dharmyukt Karma’. We followed the message of Lord Krishna. This operation gave a message to the world that India will neither be silent nor weak against terrorism. Geeta is not only a companion of ages, but of every day and every moment. If we consider it only as a religious text, then its purpose will remain unfulfilled.”

“India is a vast land of work”
The Defense Minister said, “The land of action is not just Kurukshetra, today’s India is also a vast field of action, where soldiers are practicing their dharma on the border, scientists in labs, farmers in the fields and youth in startups. The real power of Gita will be revealed only when we apply it in our behavior, in our decisions, in our work and in our relationships. Struggle is in everyone’s life. Having struggles in life is not bad, losing from the struggle is bad. Dealing with all the struggles in life. We get the power of this holy book Geeta, which teaches us that life is not just a matter of breathing, but a practice of performing our dharma, our duties and our responsibilities fearlessly.

“Gita teaches us emotional intelligence”
He said, ‘Gita teaches us Emotional Intelligence. A wise person is neither extremely sad nor extremely happy. He looks at happiness and sorrow equally. Doing good work brings satisfaction, but not madness, that is, the teachings of Geeta work to lead one towards seeing the truth. Just as Krishna awakened Arjun, similarly we will awaken the Arjun within us. If we can do this, not only our lives will improve, but our society, our nation and our future generations will be enlightened with this knowledge.

“The soul is neither born nor dies”
He said, “The job of the government is not only to do economic, social and technological development, but along with it, cultural development is also an important responsibility of the government. The very first message of Gita is that the soul is neither born nor dies. This verse “Na Jayate Mriyete Va Kashadh” gives us amazing stability amidst the uncertainties of life. This was not only a dialogue on the battlefield but it is a guidance for every situation of life.

He said, “Geeta says that life’s unnecessary worries, distorted emotions and misconceptions disappear only when we recognize the truth within us. This is why, in today’s era, when things like depression and mental stress are increasing rapidly, the message of Geeta gives new strength to people.”

“The greatest treatise on management”
He said, “Gita is not just a scripture, it is the oldest and most effective model of Indian management. From leadership to solving any problem, the knowledge of Gita is of real help everywhere. The thing which is publicized so much in the world today, was told by Shri Krishna five thousand years ago, that man’s behavior is shaped by his thoughts and thoughts are purified by devotion and yoga. Today, the acceptance of Gita is also increasing in the world. Today in many universities of the world, Courses are being taught on Geeta. It is also amazing that Geeta is not just a spiritual or religious text, but has become a universal life guide.

“Power and peace are not opposed to each other”
He said, “Gita also teaches us that power and peace are not opposed to each other. Today India gives the message of peace to the world. The whole world considers India a symbol of peace. But the reality is that peace lasts only when it is backed by confidence and strength.”
