Before the Gujarat Assembly elections, Congress is going to take a big political initiative in the state. The party will start ‘Jan Aakrosh Yatra’ from November 21, which will last for about two months. Its objective is to take advantage of the anti-incumbency wave in the state and raise local issues strongly among the public. For better management of travel, Gujarat has been divided into 4 zones. It will start from Dheema in North Zone and conclude in Gandhinagar.
Many senior leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi are going to participate in the yatra. An important meeting of Congress was held in Delhi today regarding the Jan Akrosh Yatra. General Secretary in-charge of Gujarat Mukul Wasnik, co-in-charge Ramkishan Ojha, Srinivas and Subhashini Yadav attended the meeting. In the meeting, a detailed outline of the yatra was prepared and it was decided in which areas the top leadership would be involved and which issues would be raised vigorously.
What issues will be discussed during the visit
According to sources, issues like inflation, unemployment, education, health, farmers, tribals and vote theft will be raised prominently during the yatra. Congress believes that this yatra will play an important role in establishing direct communication among the public before the elections and giving a political turn to the growing public dissatisfaction against the government. In the recent assembly elections held in Bihar, the Grand Alliance had to face defeat, in which NDA got only 35 seats and remained at second position. Its vote share was 37.6 percent. Whereas NDA won 202 seats and their vote share was 46.5 percent. In this election, Congress won only 6 seats.
