The results of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 have once again proved that Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM still has a strong hold in Seemanchal. Despite contesting only 25 out of 243 seats in the state, AIMIM made its presence felt by winning 5 seats. This victory made it clear that Muslim voters in a large part of Seemanchal still consider AIMIM a trustworthy voice.
All the 5 seats that AIMIM won are in the center of Seemanchal region. These are the areas where the party was influential in the last elections also.

Amour – Akhtarul Iman
Biasi – Ghulam Sarwar
AIMIM candidates won these 5 seats by a comfortable margin, which shows that the regional vote bank still stands strongly with the party.
Why is AIMIM’s hold strongest in Seemanchal?
The social structure of Seemanchal is considered favorable for the politics of AIMIM. In many assembly constituencies here the Muslim population is more than 60%. AIMIM’s strategy has always been focused on the issues of this region. Questions like local leadership, lack of education, employment opportunities, and neglect of development are the main basis of politics here. For this reason, the party has been receiving continuous support and this area is becoming a strong stronghold of AIMIM.
In which areas the impact of AIMIM weakened?
Despite success in Seemanchal, AIMIM got disappointing results in many places. The party gave a tough challenge in areas like Balrampur, Kishanganj, Kasba, Araria, but could not achieve victory. Outside Seemanchal, the situation remained even weaker. In areas like Dhaka, Nathnagar, Siwan, Jale, Madhubani, Munger, Nawada, AIMIM candidates did not get much support and they lagged behind from the initial round itself. The situation was worse in Narkatia, where the nomination of party candidate Shamimul Haq was canceled due to a technical error.
What the results tell – AIMIM’s political direction
Three things clearly emerge from these results. Here the party’s hold is continuously getting stronger. Like the 2020 elections, in 2025 too, AIMIM has proved that its influence in this region is permanent. AIMIM will need a long strategy and strong organization to increase its hold in the rest of Bihar. The results reflect that a large portion of Muslim votes in Seemanchal are getting attracted towards AIMIM, which can determine the direction of the state’s politics in the coming elections.
