ED has found in the investigation that the main accused involved in this recruitment scam converted the money earned through bribes into white money by offering ‘bogus services’ through fake companies. Actually, the income was being made legal by showing fake work in the name of some companies.

Earlier in this case, on October 10, 2025, ED had raided 13 places, which also included the office and house of West Bengal Minister and TMC MLA Sujit Bose (Minister of Fire & Emergency Services). In that action, Rs 45 lakh cash and many important documents were seized.

ED registered this case on the basis of CBI’s FIR, which was registered on the orders of Calcutta High Court. ED has filed its investigation report in this case in the court, in which it has been told how illegal recruitment was done in many municipalities of the state.

ED has also revealed in its investigation that this matter is also related to Teacher Recruitment Scam. In 2023, ED had raided several locations of Ayan Sil, the main accused in this scam, from where a lot of digital evidence and documents were found.

job given for money

Investigation revealed that Ayan Sil’s company ABS Infozon Pvt. Ltd. were given contracts from many municipal corporations and municipalities to print question papers, check OMR sheets and prepare merit lists. According to ED, Ayan Sil and some government officers and leaders together tampered with the OMR sheets. Marks of many candidates were changed and ineligible candidates were given jobs by taking money.

The municipalities included in this include Kanchrapara, New Barrackpur, Kamarhati, Titagarh, Baranagar, Halisahar, South Dumdum, Dumdum etc. The recruitment included labourers, sweepers, clerks, drivers, helpers, sanitary assistants, pump operators and other small employees.

Chargesheet filed in PMLA special court of Kolkata

ED has already filed a charge sheet in this case against Ayan Sil in the PMLA Special Court of Kolkata. Apart from this, ED had also raided the houses of Minister Sujit Bose and Food Supplies Minister Rathin Ghosh. ED says that the investigation into this matter is still going on and there may be more revelations in this matter in the coming days.
