In an event organized in New Delhi on Wednesday (22 October), Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force and said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is a great example of India’s military unity and coordination. He said that this campaign showed that India is fully prepared to deal with any threat or challenge. Rajnath Singh said- ‘This operation has changed the definition of war.’

The Defense Minister said that now the war is not limited only to the borders, but is also being fought in the technology and cyber world. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has taken many historic steps to modernize and strengthen the forces. He said that creating the post of Chief of Defense Staff was an important decision for better coordination between the three armies. He said- ‘The result of this was clearly visible to us in ‘Operation Sindoor’, when Indian forces gave a befitting reply to Pakistan.’
Emphasis on civil-military fusion
In this program, Rajnath Singh released the book ‘Civil-Military Fusion as a Metric of National Power & Comprehensive Security’ by Lieutenant General (retd) Raj Shukla. He said that civil-military fusion (combination of civilian and military sectors) is not just a policy but a way to increase India’s national power. This promotes new technologies and innovation, which makes the country self-reliant.
India is becoming the center of defense manufacturing
The Defense Minister said that in today’s era, technology, economy and security are deeply interconnected. He said that government, industry, startups and research institutes are now working together in the defense sector. India was once a major importer of defense equipment, but now it is fast emerging as a defense manufacturing hub. According to Rajnath Singh, ‘Ten years ago, India’s defense production was about Rs 46,000 crore, which has now increased to Rs 1.51 lakh crore, out of which the contribution of Rs 33,000 crore is from the private sector.’ On this occasion, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and other senior officers were also present.
