Upload a photo of a dirty toilet and get a FASTag recharge of Rs. 1000… NHAI’s challenge to the users!


NHAI started a unique initiative regarding cleanliness on national highways, which was named ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’. Under this campaign, if any highway user uploads a photo of a dirty toilet, he will get a FASTag recharge reward of Rs 1000.

This campaign has been started under ‘Special Campaign 5.0’, the objective of which is to ensure clean and hygienic toilets on the highways. All users have to do is upload a geo-tagged and time-stamped photo of a toll plaza toilet whenever they see it dirty on the ‘RajmargYatra’ app.

Know what is the complete rule?

Along with this, they will also have to provide their name, location, vehicle registration number (VRN) and mobile number. For every valid report, a recharge of Rs 1000 will be given in the FASTag of that vehicle. This reward will not be given in cash and cannot be transferred.

This scheme will run till 31 October 2025 and will be applicable only on toilets falling under the jurisdiction of NHAI. Each vehicle will receive the reward only once. A toilet will be selected for reward only once a day, no matter how many reports are received. Fake, old or edited photos will be rejected.

What is the objective of this campaign?

NHAI says that this step will not only promote cleanliness but will also bring a sense of responsibility among the people. Along with this campaign, NHAI is also doing works like repairing potholes, beautification of toll plazas, removing road safety signboards and encroachments, so that the experience of passengers can be better.
