Foreign Minister in the Taliban government of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaki has come to India on a week-long visit. This is the first time that a big leader from there is visiting India after the arrival of Taliban rule. Recently, he had organized a press conference in the Afghan Embassy in Delhi, but due to no female journalist being allowed to attend it, the entire opposition is attacking the Modi government. In this context, now the statement of Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammad has come.
Speaking to news agency ANI in Delhi on Saturday (October 11, 2025), the Congress spokesperson said that we should not have invited the Foreign Minister of a country called Afghanistan, which is run by men who are against women.

They keep women covered: Shama Mohammed
Shama Mohammad said that the Taliban government of Afghanistan does not allow women to go to school. They do not allow women to access health care and they keep women covered. They have no rights there. She further said that I am not able to understand that our diplomacy has gone so low that we need to invite them.
‘Why did the Indian government not raise this issue with them?’
Taking aim at the Modi government, Shama Mohammed said that both male and female journalists participate in every press conference. Why didn’t the Indian government raise this issue with them and why didn’t they say that listen, our women journalists will also participate in this. No matter what is said or done, any foreign country, even if it is their embassy, must follow the rules of the country that hosts them.
