Why does Amir Khan Muttaki want to go to Deoband? Taliban Foreign Minister himself gave the reason


Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaki will visit the world famous Islamic educational institution Darul Uloom Deoband on Saturday (October 11, 2025), where Muttaki will interact with Indian Ulemas. Along with this, he will also meet Maulana Arshad Madani, a senior teacher of the institution and president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind.

While talking to the media, Foreign Minister Muttaki told why he was going to Deoband. He said, “Deoband is a big center of the Islamic world and it is connected to Afghanistan. Deoband is a spiritual center. Deoband is a big Islamic Markaz and Afghanistan and Deoband are connected.

Afghan students will study in India

He further said, “I am going to meet the leaders of Deoband tomorrow. We want our spiritual students to also come and study here. Deoband is a prestigious educational and spiritual center. Students from our country come to India to study engineering, science etc., similarly they also come for Islamic education. Muttaki also expressed his opinion regarding the threat from Afghanistan. He said that those who say this should first present evidence.

Actually, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan is on a tour of India these days. He praised India profusely after meeting Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. In his statement, Muttaki said that Afghanistan never made any statement against India.

‘Afghanistan wants good relations with India’

The Afghan Foreign Minister further said that Afghanistan always gives importance to good relations with India. Afghanistan wants relations based on mutual respect, trade and people-to-people ties. In his opening speech during the bilateral meeting at Hyderabad House in Delhi, Muttaki said that Afghanistan will never allow anyone to use its territory against others.
