Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu said that there is no tampering in the investigation of the Air India plane crash that took place on June 12. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is investigating this plane crash. The statement of the Union Minister has come at a time when questions are being raised on the investigation of AAIB.
‘There is no manipulation in the investigation’
Union Minister Naidu on Tuesday (7 October 2025) said regarding the Ahmedabad plane crash that everyone will have to wait for the final investigation report of AAIB to know what actually happened. He said, “There is no tampering or any irregularity in the investigation. This is a very clean and thorough process, which we are doing as per the rules.
He said, “It will take some time for the final report to come out. AIB is doing a very transparent and independent study on the final report. We do not want to put pressure on them to prepare a report in a hurry so they will take the necessary time for it.”
Pilot Association had made allegations
The Airline Pilots Association of India (ALPA) had alleged that the AAIB’s preliminary report on the Air India AI-171 plane crash in Ahmedabad was prepared hastily and under pressure.
Ram Air Turbine (RAT) was deployed in Air India flight AI117 from Amritsar to Birmingham on Saturday (4 October 2025) after a technical alert. RAT (Ram Air Turbine) is automatically activated in the aircraft when there is an emergency in the electrical or hydraulic system.
Regarding this, the Union Minister said, “Whenever such incidents happen, we try to find out the root cause of the problem. Once we understand the main reason, we will contact the stakeholders, OEMs and whoever is concerned. We are going to do a thorough study on it. DGCA is finding out the cause of the problem.”

Air India plane (AI-171) going from Ahmedabad to London crashed after hitting BJ Medical College on 12 June 2025. 260 people including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were killed in this accident. Only one passenger was left alive. People in and around the hostel of the medical college were also killed in this.
