Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosbole of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on Wednesday (October 01, 2025) that RSS has tried to become the biggest voluntary organization for the last 100 years, despite the protests, due to public affection. Hosbole’s remarks came from Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few minutes before the release of a memorial postage stamp and a coin to commemorate the RSS centenary.
He thanked the government for this step and said that it is like recognizing the ‘selfless’ works of the union. Hosbole said that the Sangh and its volunteers have been working on their mission of nation building through the character building of individuals since it was established by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on the occasion of Vijayadashami in 1925.
Thanks to PM Modi for issuing postage stamps and coins
He was addressing a program organized by the Union Ministry of Culture. The RSS number second officer said, “It is a matter of pleasure for the volunteers and patriots of the Sangh that the Government of India has decided to issue a postage stamp and coin on this special occasion under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”
He said, ‘On behalf of all volunteers including volunteers living abroad, I want to express my gratitude for this.’ Hosbole said that honoring individuals and organizations for contribution towards the nation has been a long -standing tradition in India.
‘RSS’s 100 -year travel interesting’
He said, ‘The Government of India has continued this tradition. I believe that on the occasion of the centenary year of the Sangh, the work of the Sangh has been recognized by the people of India. Hosbole described 100 years of RSS as an ‘interesting’ journey and said that the Sangh has reached so far due to the love, support and acceptance given by the people of the country.
He said, ‘The Sangh faced all kinds of protests, struggle and apathy, but from that day (from the day of RSS) Sangh workers have experienced people’s affinity, affection, support and cooperation. The idea of RSS is the idea of India, which is contained in its roots, its culture and its civilization.
‘Union working to awaken society’
He said that for thousands of years the people of India have been following this idea, have been living it and have been carrying it forward with the resolve to build a superior society. He said, ‘We are the identity of that thought, that life philosophy, that culture. The idea of the Sangh has again awakened the people and they are full of belief that they are capable of emerging as ‘best society’ in the world.
Hosbole said, ‘Today the country sees the Union as an impressive and successful symbol of patriotism, discipline and selfless service. The Sangh is trying to organize the society and awaken its effort, so that it can be able to face all the challenges coming in its way.
Emphasis on promoting indigenous products
Hosbole said that in the last few decades, malicious efforts have been made to present the ‘perverted’ image of India to the world. Over the years, the success of our works has changed the picture of the country and governments. A new path has surfaced. We have to strengthen India’s discourse within the country and on the global platform as well.
He said, ‘India’s discourse about India, India, should be positive and based on truth. This is the idea of the Sangh on this occasion of its centenary. As part of the RSS agenda to bring five times the change in the society, Hosbole called upon people to promote and adopt indigenous products and to make India self -sufficient.
Hosbole told, what is the agenda of RSS?
He said that with his ‘Panch Parivartan’ agenda, RSS wants to communicate the spirit of ‘self’ among the people of the country to adopt ‘Indian’ values, right family values, social harmony, environment-friendly lifestyle and perform their civil duties.
