Kamaltei Gawai, mother of Chief Justice of India BR Gawai, has clarified that she will not attend the centenary year program of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to be held in Amravati on October 5, 2025. Kamalatai Gawai was invited as the chief guest. However, she has clarified that she will not go to this program. He gave this information about this by writing a letter, in which he has cited health.
Kamalatai Gawai issued an official letter saying that he is 84 years old and his health is not good. She said that she will not attend this program due to unhealthy and consultation of doctors.
My whole life was dedicated to Ambedkar’s ideology- Kamaltai Gawai
Kamalatai Gawai expressed grief over the false comments made about himself and her late husband in his letter. Expressing grief, he said, ‘My whole life has been dedicated to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s ideology and Vipassana movement. I am being tried to tarnish due to a program.
He said, ‘Even if I had gone to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) program, there would have been addressed only on Ambedkar’s ideas and constitutional values there.’

Earlier, Dr. Rajendra Gavai, the younger son of Kamtetai Gawai and brother of India’s Chief Justice BR Gavai, had responded to Dr. Rajendra Gavai. He had said that the program of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is going to be held in Amravati, for which his mother has been invited and his mother Kamaltei Gawai has also accepted it.
He said that even before this, veteran leaders of Republican Party Dadasaheb Gavai and Rajabhau Khobragade had also attended. This has been the tradition of our family. He said that the relationship is of brotherhood, but ideologies are different. To join a program does not mean that our ideology will change. Our friendship will have a relationship and our ideology is also confirmed.
