Navi Mumbai International Airport gets aerodrome license, big step towards operation


Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) achieved a large milestone of its journey on Monday (September 29, 2025). The Directorate of General Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted aerodrome license to the airport. This license is given after meeting strict security and regulatory standards and it is required before any airport starts operations.

Getting aerodrome license is an indication that NMIA is now moving towards final preparations towards its operation. The airport management says that this step will further strengthen the contact at the regional and international level and take the Mumbai metropolitan region to new heights.
