The Ladakh administration has dismissed the allegations being made by Sonam Wangchuk and his supporters, saying that the things that are coming out in the press conference and media statements from some classes are completely baseless. The administration made it clear that no ‘Witch Hunting’ is being done against any person including environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, but all the action is being done on the basis of reliable evidence and documents.
The administration said in an official statement that financial irregularities and foreign exchange violations are under investigation against the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIL). Initial investigation found evidence of serious disturbances.

The administration accused Sonam Wangchuk of making inflammatory statements several times. During the hunger strike, he tried to provoke the youth by giving examples of Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Even while talking about agitation like ‘Arab Spring’, he called upon the Government of India to overthrow and also referred to steps like self -immolation.
The administration said that when the situation worsened, Wangchuk’s quietly out of the fast shows his irresponsibility. The government also clarified that the date of the high -level committee meeting had already been announced on September 20, 2025 and flexibility was also shown keeping in mind the convenience of Ladakhi leaders. Despite this, Sonam Wangchuk continued her fast, which the administration described as ‘irresponsible steps taken for personal and political gains’.
