Acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj of Shri Akal Takht Sahib on Friday (September 19, 2025) launched a new web portal http://sarkarekhahalsa.org/ at the Secretariat Shri Akal Takht Sahib. This portal is designed to make relief operations systematic, transparent and effective in particular in the flood affected areas of Punjab.
Jathedar said that the foundation of the Sikh creed rests on the principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Govind Singh Ji, who always teach ‘Nanak Naam Chardi Kala, Tere Bhane Sarbat Da Bhala’. Sikhs and Sikh institutions have contributed to the service of humanity in every tragedy. Even during the recent floods in Punjab, Sikh institutions have started large scale relief services.
Various Sikh institutions participated in the meeting
Various Sikh institutions, NGOs, artists and social workers participated in the meeting held on 13 September under the chairmanship of Shri Akal Takht Sahib. He suggested that a central digital platform should be created for flood relief, so that the repetition of relief services can be avoided and the real needs of the flood affected people can be met. The portal launched on Friday is a result of the same decision.
Through this, flood affected families will be able to register their needs, while institutions and NGOs will upload information about their ongoing services. The portal has 6 main categories, agricultural assistance, home reconstruction, animal services, health services, education services and other social assistance. Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj said that transparency will remain from this platform.
Family or village will get help
He said that wherever an organization is providing service, its data will be revealed, so that no family or village will be likely to get help two or three times. This will ensure proper use of sacred donation. Any person, whether it is a person or an institution, can register on the portal with his own will. There will be no pressure or restriction.
He said that this portal is based on the principle of Miri-Piri, where both devotion and power together serve humanity. Launched today, this portal will not only provide immediate assistance to the flood victims, but will also be a transparent and well -organized model of Sikh service for the future.
‘Let Sikhs go to Pakistan’
Welcoming the order given to the states to register the marriage of Sikhs by the Supreme Court for registering the marriage of Sikhs under the Registered Anand Marriage Act, he said that this is a good decision. Sikh is a different religion and the rites of Sikhs are different from other religions.
On not allowing the Sikh batch to go to Pakistan, he said that all Sikh institutions are trying to go to celebrate the light festival of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. After 1947, there have been continuous battles and should still go, because the feelings of Sikhs are associated with the birthplace of Guru Nanak Sahib. The government should reconsider its decision again.
Rape -prone punishment
He said that the spirit with which India is playing the match, with the same spirit, should also get permission to go to Pakistan. On the incident of raping a Sikh girl in England, he said that in today’s era, the person who carries out such an incident should be punished so that no one can do such disgusting act again.
