Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav held a press conference on Saturday (September 06, 2025) regarding GST reform and economic progress. During this, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s loyalty to the middle class has always been clear. First income tax was relieved, now the general public will get big benefits through GST improvement.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that before 2014, the tax net on goods in the country was very complicated. Now GST improvement has reduced tax on electronic products like mobile, TV, solar panels. Also, tax has been reduced on basic items like bread, cloth and house. He said that the total GDP of the country is Rs 330 lakh crore, out of which 202 lakh crore rupees are related to consumption. With GST reduced, the purchase of consumers will increase and investment will also increase. Common families will get direct benefit of this.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that electronic manufacturing hub has become in India and about 25 lakh people are getting employment in this area. Referring to the mobile battery plant set up in Sohna, he said that domestic production is increasing continuously in the country and people have started adopting indigenous products. He also said that the Finance Ministry is taking care that the benefits of GST reform should reach the public directly. Positive response is being received from all over the country, and students, housewives and common citizens are appreciating it.
Awareness campaign for GST reform started
BJP has started an awareness campaign for GST reform. Instructions have been given to the units of the state and district to inform the general public and traders about the GST reform. The secretary, general secretary and minister of the party will also hold a press conference on a large scale. Referring to the dialogue between Prime Minister Modi and former US President Donald Trump on social media, the Union Minister said that the interest of farmers, youth and all citizens has been paramount in India’s foreign policy. This is the reason why India is seen as a strong and reliable democracy in the world.
